Our Ministries
At Ascension Lutheran Church, LA, we are dedicated to serving our community. We offer a variety of ministries to help you grow in your faith and connect with others. Our ministries include Bible studies, prayer groups, youth groups, and more. We believe that by serving others, we can become authentic followers of Jesus Christ.
Zion's Children
We love children at Ascension Lutheran Church, LA, and we want to help them grow in their faith. Our Children's Ministry offers Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and other fun and engaging activities. We believe that children are a gift from God, and we want to help them discover their place in His plan.
Youth & Young Adult Ministries
To connect young adults with Jesus Christ through spiritual formation/direction, religious education/formation, and vocational discernment. To connect young people to the Church through evangelizing outreach, formation of the faith community, and pastoral care.
Sister 2 Sister
Sister 2 Sister is a group for girls (ages 9-12) to be mentored by women. The goal is to provide encouragement and role models for young women, and develop relationships through FAITH, FUN, FELLOWSHIP and FRIENDSHIP. We offer Bible studies, prayer groups, and fellowship opportunities. We believe that women and young girls have a unique role in God's plan, and we want to help you discover your purpose.
Bodies of Worship
Praise Dance is the evangelizing through the use of dance and Expression. It is praise and worship only to the most high “God” with the intent that God's Holy presence will be exhorted among the congregation. The goal is to uplift, encourage, heal, deliver and save God's people through song and dance. We also like to emphasize collaboration with other ministries.
Media Ministry
Our media team is dedicated to creating an immersive and engaging worship experience for our congregation and community. Our team works tirelessly to ensure that every aspect of our worship services, from sound to camera operation, meets the highest standards of quality and excellence. Whether you are attending in person or online, we want you to feel deeply connected to our worship, and our team is here to make that possible.

Altar Guild
Members of the Altar Guild engage in God’s work with cheerful hearts. We meet regularly to train and to prepare for observing the seasonal changes to the altar per the church calendar. We have teams, comprised of two to three members each, which serve once per month. Our mission is to...

Women's Bible Study
We are dedicated and devoted “Sisters in Christ” faithfully studying the Word of God every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. We follow the Bible Study lessons in the Women of the ELCA Gather magazine at our online Zoom meetings. Sisters of every generation are invited to join our lively discussions in a safe space by contacting our Church Office for login information.
